Typically our churches chose to use the following Curriculum. To view curriculum please click on link below.

All churches who work with children need to ensure that all paid and volunteer workers have a working with Children Check Number. The church needs to verify these details through the WWCC website before allowing volunteers to work with children in their church.
The WWCC is a screening process and all Elders who have children ministries in their churches should also be screened in accordance with legislation. WWCC is the base minimum requirement for churches.
The link below provides information to help churches understand and implement WWCC screening checks.
As a network of churches we support Child Safe practises within our churches and would recommend that
- Churches adopt a Child Safe Policy for their church and implement the proceedures within. CCCAust(NSW) has written a generic policy that churches can take and modify to suit their situation. See Link Below. (Word file)
Appendix C Child Safe Policy.docx
- Churches implement training to keep their church informed of appropriate behavioural standards when working with children. To help churches do this we have 2 recommended options
- Safe Ministry Training This course is video based and takes about 20 mins to complete. It will do a verification of the persons WWCC number and provide you with 2 references to check on the person. The cost is $5 +GST per person, provided you email admin and confirm you are part of CCCAust(NSW).
- Child Safe: This is a full on administration system that we have access to (for a cost) throug CCCVaT which will allow you to record and train church personal in how they interact with Children. If you are interested please contact Brad and he'll explain how the system works.
Thus we feel that if a church implements WWCC checks, the above Policy and a behavioural training program, the church would then be in a strong position in regard to meeting its oblications for providing a Child Safe environment.
