2026 theme
In whom do you trust?
BUILD’26 will build up men as disciples of the Lord Jesus and brothers in Christ. Our main talks will be from Kirk Patston from the book of Isaiah. Kirk says “The book of Isaiah asks us to be honest about who, or what, we trust in. It also invites us into a trusting way of living that sets us free from ourselves”
Our Speaker
Rev Dr Kirk Patston
Kirk oversees programs that equip students in ministry skills, cultural intelligence, and communication at Sydney Missionary& Bible College. He coordinates mission teams, leads the biennial Ministry Practice Conference, and lectures in practical theology and Old Testament.
Before SMBC, Kirk worked in speech pathology and Presbyterian ministry and has been lecturing since 2000. His research degrees explored theology of mission in Isaiah and the interaction of disability studies with the theme of otherness in Job.
Kirk and his wife, Lisa, share a passion for art and faith and helped found Our Place Christian Communities, supporting adults with intellectual impairment. They have two adult sons and serve creatively within Springwood Presbyterian Churches.
